Soooo, yeah.
I thought my cloth diaper days had come to an end. Mmmyeah. Notsomuch.
So here I am building a cloth diaper stash for a newborn again and let me tell you, it is WAY more fun than the first time around when I had no idea what I was buying, what would work, and would I even like them.
What I am doing differently this time:
1. More newborn prefolds, fewer fitteds
2. More wool covers because they are oh so soft and wonderful. I loooove wool covers.
3. Fewer "size specific" type diapers (such as fitteds, all-in-ones, etc.) until baby is at least a size medium and that speedy growth slows down a bit.
4. For the size specific diapers, make them myself unless I find a really super good deal on something. I have the pattern, ability, machines, and most of the materials on hand, kinda dumb to buy them new.
5. Stress a lot less about washing method, stains, and all that jazz. It's poop, it stains. So what.
I've revived my Diaper Swappers membership and have started scoping out what's new and cool and the prices of things. Good grief, I can't believe what people will pay PER DIAPER for some brands. It's outrageous. It also reminds me why I liked prefolds so much. And it makes me wish I enjoyed diaper sewing a bit more so that I could cash in on the custom diaper sewing business. Cha-ching.
That's all. More to come, I'm sure.
People who cloth diaper LOVE to talk about cloth diapers.

Well, the good news is I can send you some newborn prefolds when I'm done with this round, and I'll be happy to send you back the toddler prefolds when it's time for that too. Can't help you with the soakers, that's Kate's department.
I tend to actually put clothes on my babies, so all the cool and fancy prints on some of these pricey diapers are pointless for me. I'm satisfied with the bumGenius 3.0 for my one size needs. I do want to grab some Thirsties duo wraps though, so I can use prefolds at home as she grows. Right now I only have the size small BSWW covers.
And I do hope I am disguising my I-told-you-so chuckles.
So what's the "I told you so" chuckle about?
You know, that you might actually need those diapers back ... you said you were DONE :)
