And I didn't mean that like it came out, but hey, it's out there now...
Except I remembered this morning one of the reasons why I love bumGenius. Zesty's battling hand-foot-mouth, with an extra blessing of occasional diarrhea, so we've kept him in 'sposies until we know the coast is clear. This morning he loaded that diaper up in such a manner that the gel insides came out the side. Gross.
For the new baby, my plans are to keep him or her in prefolds and covers as long as possible. At first, my thoughts immediately went to buy-more-bumGenius-RIGHTAWAY ... but I figured the longer I can keep the newborn in prefolds and covers, that will hopefully keep me from having to spend more money. I mean, isn't that the point of cloth diapers, to avoid buying new diapers every time you have a new baby? :)
Just for fun the other day I snapped down a bG to newborn size with just the doubler/newborn insert inside. I can hardly remember Zesty being that small - his legs were so skinny!
So I think my plan is to purchase a few medium-sized Bummi Super Whisper Wrap diaper covers to expand the use of my prefolds, especially for home use. I may swoop in on a few used pink bG's if it's a girlie, because she will need some pink what with all the blue onesies I already have nearly brand new. We find out the gender next week.
On cloth diaper accessories ... I'm starting to work on Mr Lemon to make the switch to cloth wipes. Not only will we be diapering two bums, we will be wiping two bums. It's like slow water torture, you know, just gotta keep on with the drip ... drip ... drip ... until finally he breaks and gives in to the cloth wipes.
Just kidding. I don't manipulate him like that

I have all 3 versions of the bumGenius diapers and none of them fit newborns. Ayden was only 5lb 13oz and no cloth diapers I had fit him. He's just starting to fit into some small diapers. Prefolds and covers are the way to go. I think in another month he might fit into a BG. All of that was to say hold off on getting more for a while, unless you see a great deal on some seconds;)
Cloth wipes are great! I keep the solution with them so there is no traveling to the sink to wet them. The solution I made is super cheap to make and Daniel's bum has never been softer and his rash hasn't come back! Wish I had done this a year ago.
Sounds like you have a plan for the new little one.
My Mister is having the hardest time with cloth wipes too. I'm "helping" him switch by not purchasing more disposable wipes. Then again, I'm evil.
